Big Cats

So far I have been researching about Big Cats. I chose to do Big Cats as a researching topic because my expert topic was White Tigers and I was really interested in that and I wanted to find out more. For example, the similarities about each other and the differences. So far I have been researching about Bobcats, Tigers, Lions, and Leopards. I hope you find the information in this article interesting. Enjoy!
All About Bobcats:
First of all, Bobcats have shorter tails than other wild cats. The shorter tails help them to hide from their prey so that they can sneak up on them and surprise them.  Bobcats also have spots on their fur and their spots help them so that they can blend into the forests. Bobcats are even twice as big as house cats. That is how big they are. Small I know. They also have sharp claw and you know the cool thing about the sharp claws? They can go into the Bobcat’s paws!  That’s also why they are known for being quiet. Bobcats habitat is in North America. They like to rest in rocky ledges and they like to sleep in hollow logs. They are also nocturnal. That means that they are active at night and sleep during the day.
All About Tigers:
First of all,  there are tons of different species of Tigers such as, The Royal Bengal Tiger, The Indochinese Tiger, The Malayan Tiger, The Sumatran Tiger, and The South China Tiger. They are all endangered due to habitat destruction, poaching, and hunting. The Tiger is the largest and most powerful out of all Cats that ever lived. Poaching and hunting are two different things hunting is when all you have is a gun with you and once you see the thing you’re looking for you shoot. Poaching is when people use traps, baits, and rudimentary weapons to kill animals, such as Tigers. Both hunting and poaching Tigers has become extremely common all over Asia. A few thousand Wild Tigers and 7 percent in their former range.
All About Lions:
The first thing you should know about Lions is that they live in a pride. There are about 40 individual Lions in a pride including cubs. Males are also much larger than females. Males can weigh up to 420 pounds. While females only weigh up to 280 pounds. Lions also have brown fur with black tips at the end of the tails. Lions also mainly live in Africa, Southern Europe and even Central India. Female Lions also hunt in groups while males usually hunt alone. Lions have also been shot to extinction in most of its historical range. Lions are even one ofthe most social out of all Big Cats. Lions also like the Tiger, go through severe poaching and habitat loss/destruction. Lions also usually hunt at night or dawn. They eat large animals such as Wildebeests, Buffalos and Zebras in Africa.
All About Leopards:
The Leopard is the easiest to find out of all the Big Cats. They live from the forests of North Africa to South Asia. Leopard are already almost endangered tye to poaching and habitat loss/destruction. Some kind of Leopards are very rare to find. The size of Leopards is from 37 to 143 pounds. (17 to 65 kg) and are about 64 to 91 inches (160 to 230 cm). Their habitat is mostly in rain forests, deserts, and mountains. Each Leopard can have up to 2 to 3 a lifetime. They mostly also like to eat wild pigs. Leopards are also very good climbers. The Leopard is also the smallest out of all Big Cats.
I hope I helped you to find out as much information as possible. Remember that just doing something small can help a hole lot of things. I hope you chose to help these animals. Each Big Cat is special at its own thing.

Curiosity Unit

Have you ever heard of the stock market well this is all about the stock market? I chose this curiosity because I’ve always been interested in economics. So I didn’t know much about the stock market and decided that would be my curiosity.

I learned about the different stock companies like the New York Stock exchange and the National Association of Stock Exchange. Many apple products track the stock market daily telling you if it is a good day to buy stock or not. New York where Apple is based is known as the mother of the stock market because of the headquarters are, were many stock markets are. If you have the chance visit NASDAQ take the tour and you will have the chance to see what a stock looks like.

Although many Stocks have had a very good It’s still a poker game you can invest all your money into one stock and you could lose all your money or win more money.

City of Atlantis

CITY OF ATLANTIS : lost beneath the waves to a massive natural ...

 The lost city of Atlantis

Atlantis is my curiosity project and dese are some facts I learned. Atlantis is the lost city. People still don't know if it's real or not. Some people say it is in Spain deep under the sea. They think it is the size of Europe. Plato wrote a book about Atlantis. They think there are three rings around the whole city. The statues were made out of gold. Atlantis is from a Greek word the word is atlas. Plato was from Greece. Scientist are still looking for Atlantis. People think when Atlantis sank some people escaped on rafts and boats. They say it is between the Atlantic ocean because both of the countries that the same thing and had the same religions. Some people think as them as warnings that even great civilizations can be destroyed by nature.  What do you think is Atlantis real or just a myth?

I hope that you learned a lot and that you changed your mind on animals under water. Maybe you changed so much you want to save one or help one. Well spread the word and tell everyone what you learned. Maybe you so smart  you could write about it!
My curiosity topic is about cats, how cats live and what type, and how many type of cats are there. I’ve got these resources from friends, computer(ASB icommons, wikipedia, etc) , and also and mostly, BOOKS!  And  today, I will just tell you some of the informations that I have from researching…

First of all, I will tell you the resource I’ve got from my friend, or got curious because my friend know it…. So… off this thing is…. So… when I was in recess, my friend Jaelyn asked do i know how many days does it take till the kitten comes out.. So I got curious about it, so I researched about it in the cat basics book…. Then I found that it takes 63 days (9 weeks) for the kitten to born… and also… my friend Kaisa told me that when the cat likes you, it presses you with it’s paw.
Second of all, the things I learned in the computer are a little, but i will tell you… I learned about cat care, and what cats need in daily life(pet cats) so, you will need litter, cat food, and some toys.
That is all I learned in the computer…. Sorry!!😅😅

And the things that I have learnet from books are that cats open there eyes on about 10 days, and also, I learned that cats have many types of types… (and… ya!!😅) hehe… I learned lot more,  but I will only tell you this much… If you have a cat, this will give you a little of info.....😊

Weather disasters
tornado-541911_640.jpgweather disaster are just like natural disaster but the weather does it.One of them is  tornado. There was very grand tornado in tri state U.S.A.  1925. One more tornado was in southerner midwest U.S.A 2011. It had a damage of 11 billion dollars.

concusion
As you can see getting grape juice on your shirt is not a disaster earthquakes, volcano tornadoes , hurricane etc are  real disaster because people lose their homes their property there water there eletricity . So if you think that spilling grape juice is a disaster it is no true.

I have been reading about dogs and their history, personality, breeds etc… . I have learnt a lot more since the curiosity share and now I know information about many dog breeds!I have been reading informational E-books on big universe, Britannica elementary and middle, pebble go and power knowledge life science. Now I  am knowledgeable about some dog breeds. I wish to dog breeds. I wish to read more about dogs in the future and hope that I won’t have to wait very long to get one!  And these are a few did you know facts about dogs. Did you know that pugs were originated in china? Did you know that about 200 years ago when there was king's and queens had pugs as pets?
Also did you know that Saint Bernards can way up to 200 pounds!?
Another fact about Saint Bernards is that they are called working dogs because they have been with  humans for a 1000 years. My last fact about Saint Bernards is that Saint Bernards in the olden days had very important jobs they had to smell and find lost people who climbed mountains because they have a better sense of smell than other dogs and the mountains they sniffed were  Mount Everest, The Himalayas and the Alps.  And now these are some facts about  puppies. First when puppies are 1 day old to 2 weeks old they cannot see and hear. They can’t walk either they can only wiggle! Another fact is that puppies can leave their mother when they are 8 weeks old.
For a puppy or any pet you will need to groom your pet.
And lastly always reward your puppy when you’re training him and he does something right.
Lastly if your puppy is shy of meeting you at first then just keep playing with it!

The Big Three

I have just started getting more curious about greek gods, mainly the Big Three. Who are Hades god of the underworld ( he has a roman name called Pluto, Poseidon god of earthquakes and the sea also known as Neptune. Strongest of all Zeus god of thunder also known as Jupiter.

These are the Big who were spat out of Cronus's gut because he ate them. Cronus was a titan who were the Big Three’s father he ate all his children except Zeus. When Zeus grew up he made a potion with a blanket on it so it looked like it was him and his mom gave it to Cronus, his father ate it up but he threw up all of Zeus’s siblings. Then they ran to Tartarus and the cyclops who made them weapons to fight their father. Poseidon got a three sided trident, Zeus got a thunderbolt and Hades got an invisibility helmet. That started the Titan War.

After they killed their father they made Mount Olympus and Zeus was chosen as the king of gods and Hera was chosen as the queen of gods who is also the goddess of marriage. And  Zeus sent troublemakers to Hades for punishment.

SHARKS

Speeding through the seas with sharp teeth and a powerful bite, this creature destroys everything in it’s path. The king of the sea the sharks. Great whites grow up to 15 to 20 feet long and others grow to different sizes. Before the women start breeding she falls in love with many males and leaves those males who do not help raise the child. Did you know sharks lay eggs! Pups are called baby sharks and lots of pups together is called a litter. Pups are born 10 to 12 months after breeding. Pups take care of themselves, they even hunt by themselves. After few years the pups turn into juveniles. Adults are about 10 to 15 years old. Great whites breed at this age but it also depends on the type of shark for when they breed as an adult. Did you know that sharks aren’t killers they only kill 10 people a year and toasters kill 40 people that is less than people getting shocked by a toaster!

Curiosity Physics

Physics is a science from nature. Like if a ball falls down there is kinetic energy which is a energy that appears when something is falling. There are tons of physics In earth. Light, sound, wave, energy, and more. In a book called Physics there were the physics that Einstein had found. In the books called Boomerang, Paper Airplanes, Trampolines, and Encyclopedia there are interesting facts. Boomerang needs force and gravity, a trampoline appears kinetic energy, paper airplanes need gravity and lift. Encyclopedia has all about physics. There is about that newton had found and other kind of people who found physics. There are many information about physics.

The Top of the World - Mount Everest

Mount Everest - the name itself conjures up an auspicious feeling and grandness.  People have been trying to conquer this mountain since the 1920s.  I’ve been curious about this dangerous mountain and the people who take risks to climb it.

Mount Everest is one mountain in a chain of mountains called the Himalayas that lies between or in India, Nepal, and China.  The mountain range was created about 40 million years ago from the movement of the Earth’s tectonic plates.  At its highest point, it reaches 8848 meters above sea level.  People have been adventuring on this dangerous mountain for many years.  It was first successfully summited by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay on May 29th, 1953.  Since then thousands of people have attempted to climb this mountain; only some have been successful.

Climbing mount Everest is a dangerous endeavor because of its height, harsh climate, and changeable weather conditions.  At high altitude, oxygen in the air is less making it hard for the human body to perform.  In addition, the high winds/cold temperature can cause frostbite.  Humans can not live at such heights.  Sherpas live in villages at 4,270 meters.  They are adapted to the conditions of the mountain.  Visitors to the region have to spend time acclimatizing to the challenging conditions.   To succeed, visitors to the area need specialized equipment like oxygen mask and tank, ropes, crampons and clothing/footwear to protect from the extreme weather.  Of course, in the early day, some of this equipment was not available and people climbed with the basic equipment.
